My recommendation for a good CD writer would be a Samsung SH-S202x (PATA) or 203x (SATA). I have a SH-S202N and it is probably the best CD writer I have ever owned. Don’t buy a SH-S222 or 223 model by mistake, these newer 22x drives appear to be very poor CD writers.
I also have an Optiarc AD-7200A which arrived last week. So far I have not had any problems and the results look good, but it is too early reach a conclusion.
I have never used Lite-On’s current DH-52R2P CD writer, but my experience of their previous model (the SOHR-5239V) has put me off Lite-On drives forever.
What are your BenQ Advanced scan reaults with the NEC and Taiyo Yuden Media, with my NEC 7200S a catastrophy.
Here is a scan posted by Dragemester of a Plextor Taiyo Yuden disc written at 48x on an AD-7203A. BLER average 0.46, no E22 or E32 and good jitter.
