I burned a video onto a DL+R using the NEC3540, however had mixed results playing this back on various players.
NEC3540A (firmware 1.01)
Verbatim 2.4X (MKM001) burned at 8x
Nero Express (bundled with NEC)
The disc played on all players I tried, but on 2 of the 5, a Samsung Combo drive and an Onkyo home player it had trouble reading the second half of the disc. Is this due to poor quality of the disc or are some players simply unable to read home written DL discs? Will burning at a lower speed help, or should I not waste the $ on DL if I intend to play it on my Onkyo home player?
Reading the disc back using Nero CD-DVD speed gave a smooth pyramid from 3.0x to 7 back to 3. Also believe the disc was bit-set to DVD-ROM as shown in DVD identifier.
