My NEC3520A died after about 1.5 year and now I'm looking for its' successor.
After doing some research I've found that NEC are the best drives concerning value for money, because they have excellent "aftermarket" support (LiggyDee firmwares rule :)), they have bitsetting, good write quality and RPC1 (not really important for me, doesn't hurt though).
So, is 7173A a good one for replacement? I can find it here in Greece for 31 euros incl. 19% VAT and 1 year warranty (I hope it lasts a little more longer than that, oh well... :o)
My mobo has an nForce 4 Ultra chipset, I run Windows XP SP2 and I have the latest Nero (Premium). I also have lots of spare TYG02 discs.
One more question, DiscT@2 means that I will be able to write on the data area of the DVD+-R? WITHOUT any special discs? Is it possible with 7173A + Nero and TYG02?
Thanks in advance!
