dvd info pro gave me a readout of the disc below and it says the booktype is dvd-rom but it will not play.

could some one who knows about this stuff take a look at the dvdpro read out below and tell me if there is anything wrong.

I suggest checking what media your standalone can play on videohelp.com.

Welcome to the forum.

I have a United dvd player, that only will play DVD+RW when bitsetted as dvd+rw.

When bitsetted to dvd-rom it reject the disc.

Try to burn the disc again, but this time with bitdetted as normal dvd+rw.

tried the bitsetting dvd+rw but still no luck
there was no problems at all with my old writer hp200j, burned loads of dvd+rw which played fine on standalone
what is the nec3500 doing different to the hp200j

Yo-

I have two 3500’s and have found over time and 100+ burns that they both seem to favor -R medias - to the point that I only use 8x -R in Ritek, Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim and Maxell brands-

BTW - have had some serious issues with Prodisc +R medias in both my 3500’s-

very true! that is why everyone’s told me to buy strictly -R’s. haven’t acquired the need for +R’s quite yet. Maybe i’m still in the beginning stages of getting into the swing of burning dvd’s

Yo-

I have tried the +R’s (Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim) - still like the results (freedom of errors) from the -R media better-
