I’ve also bought some Verbatim +R and -R and they are just fine.

Is it the drive or is it the media which i have to worry about?

Another thing is that i use Nero to burn with and when i’ll burn a Verbatim 4x -R it tells me it can burn with 8x speed, but it take as long as with 4x speed to burn it although i set it at 8X spped in Nero

Its an NEC ND2500A.

I’ve got a little further.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it has something to do with
SERL (Super Eutectic Recording Layer) technology. But of couse i cant be sure.

Anybody else had problems with NEC 2500A and Verbatim DVD+RW 4x with SERL?

Another thing is that when i burn about 3 GB to the media the error first occur at about 3.5 GB, how can that happen. Is the media written from one end and when you test for errors with DVDinfoPro it read fom the other end. If it writes and reads from the inside howcome the errors starts 0.5 GB after written stuff.

I tryed to burn a backup of a movie with a guide from DVDshrink.
i burned it in ISO/UDF mode and then the problem first occur in the last 20 MB of the disk.

Anybody has a good explanation to to that???
