Nec Optiarc AD-7173S won't burn DVD-R DL discs

I wanted to burn some data on my Princo DVD-R DL 8.5gb 4x speed discs but all i get in Nero 8 is

Burning Layer 1

Illegal Disc

Could not preform start of Disc-at-once

Burn process failed at 2x

and in img burn i get:

Stick to using Dvd+R DL.

What [B]beef[/B] and [B]Ms. Arachne[/B] said above. Oh, and choose Verbatim for all of your DL needs, if possible. Otherwise, you may not have great success.
