Computer 1 has a Lite-On DVD-RW drive that allows designation of a maximum record speed of 48X. The same media in Computer 2 (a similar computer) using the same software (Nero) with an NEC ND-3550A drive only allows 32X selection. The firmeware was at 1.06, but I flashed it to 1.Y6. Nothing changed. Where is the speed being limited? Does Nero Ultra 7 need to be updated?
What is the name and MID of the media you are using?

Not all DVD burners will burn CD media at 48x. Some of mine will only go to 40x.
This is not a problem as for music CDs 16x is a safe speed & for data CDs 24x would be good.
That’s interesting. Based on my experience with the drives, I believe I would be inclined to buy the Lite-On (1635, I think) instead of the NEC. At least both units are good drives.
