Welcome to CDFreaks 
Run Nero InfoTool on your NEC drive and see if the CD+G box is ticked.
If it is, that would indicate to me that it does support CD+G, as my NEC 4551A and Optiarc 5170S both support burning and reading them.
You can find InfoTool in the Nero Toolkit if you have Nero installed, if not it’s available as a free download.
