NEC ND-3500AG cd-rw erase error

I’m using Liggy & Dee V2.TG QUIET firmware and recently I’ve noticed that when trying to erase Dysan cd-rw HS discs (on both) it gives me error first time but than 2nd time it erases just OK, can someone tell me what the problem might be;
one more thing; after burning them on Liteon (using Nero) read speed is rather slow (round 2000kb/s), Is this OK?

Info from smartburn
Dysan cd-rw HS 8-12x
Drive Type = DVD DUAL
Disc Type = NORMAL CD-RW
Material = Phase Change
Lead In = 97:25:30
Lead Out = 79:59:73
Nominal Capacity = 702.83MB
Manufacturer Maybe = Infodisc Technology Co., Ltd.
SMART-BURN Speed Limit = 10X (Write)

Erasing with
Nero premium (erasing through nero smart start)

lol, since when is a HS CD-RW a “normal CD-RW”?

Anyway, skip nero, use dvdinfo for erasing that rw.

what do you mean?

Thanks for your reply; but as I said it erases just fine when doing it 2nd time;

Info from smartburn
Dysan cd-rw HS 8-12x
Drive Type = DVD DUAL
Disc Type = NORMAL CD-RW

Ok thanks but which version should I use?, there are rumours that this prog is unstable and has some issues if one tries to work with it

One of the latest - that’s what I would use.

Everything is fine but:
When trying to do CD/DVD speed test in dvdinfo sometimes the disc (burnt dvd-r verbatimx16, TYG03) cannot spin up and the other time (like now:) it reads OK (speeding up), is it because of the firmware (you know the quiet one 2.TG - I know it should read burnt discs full speed but…)
The cd/dvd crc read error test runs ok but the same thing sometimes happens (it reads slower ~2000kb/s)

The same thing occurs when trying to copy data (ie through total commander)
I can’t make PIPO scanning but it’s OK (it tells me I need 2R8 firmware at least)

In Nero cd/dvd speed when trying to do disc quality and scan disk tests it gives me this error:
Drive does not support this function

Sorry for such long reply
Hope You or someone else could help me

Hello horoszka and welcome to the forum.
The 2.TG modified firmware does not alter anything for CD-R or CD-RW.
The Quiet part only slows down the read speed of pressed DVD Video and does not slow down any other media.
Also the 3500 drive is not able to perform disc quality tests.

Thanks for your reply and sorry for the delay;
I have another question though;
Recently my dvd burner screwed 3 discs when I was trying to burn some data;
Here is the log file:

I was wondering if burning from two different hard drives at once might be the cause;

Now it’s like 4th disc :sad:
Here is the screenshot:

Nothing to do with your particular problem here , but an upgrade for Nero would be an excellent idea. This version you have is very buggy.

Yep, fully agree.

I’ve just installed new version of Nero (ver. but it turned out I’ve run out of blank dvd’s so can’t do any test at the moment; I hope it’s gonna work excellent though
Thank you guys,

So far so good:)
The same data, and it finished OK
Gonna try some more burning and than will see

Please post the MID of the screwed up discs :slight_smile:
It may just be pathetically poor quality media.

Nero->Nero Toolkit->CD DVD Speed->Quality Test.
After you insert the disk it’ll come up on the right :wink:

Sorry for such long delay,
I doubt the discs was the cause; I;m using Verbatims

Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:MCC 03RG20 ]

Disc & Book Type : [DVD-R] - [DVD-R]
Manufacturer Name : [Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.]
Manufacturer ID : [MCC 03RG20 ]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4.71 GB (4.38 GiB)]

So it must have been buggy version of Nero, now evrthg is working OK

Update Nero - again.
