Hi,

Has anyone an idea, which one of these two (Sony or NEC) is the right choice to buy?

The Sony is here in Vienna for about € 360,- and the NEC will arrive in the next two or three days for about € 330,-

Does anyone know a review of the new NEC or should i take the well-known Sony…

Any advice please?

Well go with the Sony if you can afford it. As it supports both standards DVD + and - .

The NEC only supports DVD + but it does at 4x speed.

I bought my NEC ND-1100a for €220 euro, thats seems an awfully expensive price for the drive your quoting

Fireman said NEC ND-1300A which does support both DVD Plus and DVD Minus. I’m not sure why ND-1300A should cost so much even in Europe.

Have much hope for NEC ND-1300A or the next from NEC, people!

That’s the same question I have.

I think I just wiat until I have read some reviews before I decide, although I prefer (don’t ask why) the Sony upfront.

A lot of drives based on NEC ND-1300A are appearing. All under US$300 per unit.
