I just got this Sony NEC Optiarc model No. AD-7590A and my laptop(Toshiba Satellite A15-S129) don’t see it at al, I also get a message when I boot :IDE ERROR before windows starts up.
Does anyone knows how to make this work?
Thank you

Toshiba laptops don’t work well with Optiarc (and probably several other) drives in their default configuration. I’d recommend contacting Optiarc and mentioning the IDE Error. You should be given a tool then that is able to switch your drive’s IDE mode.

This will however require that you find a way to access your drive by either finding someone with a laptop that recognizes your drive or by using a slimline-IDE adapter and a desktop PC.
