and its DMA is set to “OFF”
i dont know how to cope with that …
and by the way would you show me picture of the back of teh dvd writer so that i can see the jumpers in default form ( that damn guy changed that two )

here see the pic and tell me what to do to set the DMA “On” … and about jumpers … please tell me how many jumpers should i see there … and how they are configured

Please sb help me :frowning:

i even tried to change it through Device manager … i change it … but still no luck !! …
here is what i have in my system ! :frowning:

You could try removing the IDE controller completely from device manager. Reboot and allow XP to find the drivers and install them again.

If this fails, check out the following document from MS. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060

tanx … im on it …

tanx a million …i did it and now the DMA is back

You’re welcome. I’m glad it’s all working now.
