After several wonderful years and probably 600 burned DVD’s…my beloved NEC 3550A is dead. Worked fine Tuesday, but Wednesday all I get is the dreaded click, click, click…

So, I need a replacement. All I need is a dependable burner that can burn DVD +R and DVD DL +R in book type setting using Verbatim disks.

I don’t think I’ve made a coaster with my NEC in several years, so I’ve been spoiled I guess.

Does anyone have a recomendation?

I just want a successfull burn, every day, and not have to worry about testing them or checking the burn.

One other thought…

Would it be worthwhile to find a used one on Ebay, or has the technology changed enough to justify buying something newer.

Would it be worthwhile to find a used one on Ebay[/QUOTE]No! Nec 3550s didn’t have a very good overall reputation. There are far better burners out there now. As suggested above a Nec 7200 would be a good choice.
