NEC 3540 audio CD problem

vbimport

#1

Whenever I burn an audio CD in Nero that is filled to capacity, I get a loud static sound that is intermittent over the final few tracks. The sound is repetitious and occurs at the same interval each time (about 3 times per second). I have some CDs that I have burned with 50 minutes or less that do not contain the sound, but others consistently do. I am using Nero Burning Rom 6.6.0.13 with my NEC 3540a. I have tried manufacturer firmware 1.01e and Liggy & Dee’s modified firmware; the problem occurs with both. Any ideas? Below is my info from Nero InfoTool.

could be a bug try latest nero
http://www.filemirrors.com/search.src?file=Nero-6.6.0.15a.exe&size=34219568

what speed have you burned it at?
what media have you used? insert the media in the drive and run nero infotool get into disc tab take a screenshot and upload to http://www.imageshack.us ,the burner might not like the media try another brand

after you burned em where did you play em? pc/mini stereo/stand alone cd player/dvd player ,if you played em on pc did you try em in both of the optical drives or just one? if just one try the other,if it plays badly in both of the drives your sound card driver might be at fault check for driver updates ,if you didnt play em on pc then try it maybe your dvd/cd players/mini stereo dont like that media

#3

I have tried playing them in my car’s CD player as well as in my PC DVD-ROM and DVD writer.

Thanks for your help.

“unknown” can only mean two things
a) you got a software that hides atip info such as clonecd/alcohol 120%
b) your burner’s firmware doesnt support that media code

if you have clonecd check tray icon for “hide cdr media”
if alcohol 120% get into options and find “ignore media type”
of course check again with nero infotool at disc tab after you put em off

if you dont have any one of those softwares or those options were alredy off it means your burner’s firmware doesnt support that media code in that case youll have to use another media brand i recommend verbatim datalife pastel they are made in japan by taiyo yuden great quality also you can get non branded taiyo yuden from www.rima.com

#5

I had Alcohol 120% but removed it. I guess I’ll try some new media. I’m in the process of downloading the latest Nero just to see if that might fix the problem. Thanks again.

#6

you welcome
i doubt new nero will fix it your burner’s firmware just doesnt support that mediacode and uses a generic write strategy cuz of it and no software will change it do yourself a favor and get some taiyo yuden media

#7

I just put in an order for some of the media you suggested. I’ll try to remember to post in this thread once I find out whether or not that solves the problem.

#8

I tried different media, and my audio CDs are perfect now. Thanks a bunch for your help.

#9
