NEC 3520A and Windows Media Player

I just bought the NEC 3520A DVD burner. I have an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ system 512MB RAM with an ATI Radeon 9600XT video card running WinXP Prof.

I am able burn successfully but I am unable to play any DVDs using Windows Media Player or Real Player. I get just get blurred images. But I am able to play the DVDs using MPC (Media Player Classic) What could be the problem?

Please help. I am using the default firmware.

Since DVD’s play ok with MPC, there is likely something wrong with your current version of Windows Media Player. So why not just download latest version from Microsoft website.

However, you will get much better use of your DVDs using proper DVD playing software like “Power DVD” !

WMP is no real DVD player software.

Better use a true one like PowerDVD or WinDVD or maybe VLC.

just get a codec pack and youll be able to play dvds with WMP, but yeah, Id use powerDVD over MP anytime.
