This doesn’t look good. 0@P ! is not a media code. The only other place where I’ve seen such a thing was a Nero CD-DVD Speed scan with some ancient (LiteOn?) DVD-ROM drive.

Your Ridisc media may be bad.
Try some high quality media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim instead.

(Oh… do you have Alcohol, Daemon Tools, CloneCD/DVD or other virtual drive software installed?)

Hi, I do have d-tools running and nero imagedrive but ive disabled nero imagedrive and uninstalled d-tools but it still doesnt burn. Ill try and get some high quality media to burn on to see if it works.

You’re using firmware 2.17.

Upgrade to latest 2.1B http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/NEC-ND-3500A/

RITEKF - 1 is not supported by 2.17 http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?p=709907#post709907

Just to elaborate on kg_evilboy’s comment about using quality media:

I use Taiyo Yudens now, but I used some really cruddy media in the past. I’m talking stuff that most burners would spit out. I’m talking stuff so bad that they don’t even have a manufacturer name anywhere near them! But the 3500 just kept on burning them with excellent results.

I honestly can’t say that media has ever been an issue with the 3500. Except for DL media. It only likes Verbatim there. But this post was about SL so :stuck_out_tongue:
