I recently purchased a Nec ND-3500AG drive and patched it with Liggy & Dee’s firmware V2b4.
I used Furio to test the device and got this warning:
Warning: The device cannot read audio data correctly under ceratin circumnstances.
About the device: _NEC - DVD_RW ND-3500AG we got mails that this device cannot read audio correctly in all circumnstances.
This doesn’t mean that your device is worthless.
It can in fact depend on the firmware version or even on your sytem whether the device reads the correct data.
Feurio’s testing didn’t find any errors. However when ripping an audio CD with EAC (secure mode), it gave me a sync error at the last track. I tried again with my old Plextor 8/4/32 and ripped all tracks perfectly.
I have two questions:
Is the sync error I got related to Feurio’s warning, or is Feurio referring to a different kind problem?
I’m interested in making perfect rips with EAC. Could the sync error (as well as any other possible errors), be resolved by using different firmware? Which firmware would that be?
