NEC 2500 + Ritek G04 + Xbox does not work

HI,

Has anyone had any success buring with Rikek G04 Media and getting it to work on a XBOX. The disc works fine on a stand alone player, but is not getting recognised on the xbox.

If I use Princo 4x media with the Nec it works fine.

If i burn the Ritek G04 using a Pioneer 105 it works fine.

Any Ideas?

I am using the standard December 1.06 firmware. I have read that the January 1.06 is worst.

Should I try the The Dangerous Brothers hack for better media compatibilty?

A few things you can try:
Try burning the G04 using RecordNow and then try in your Xbox.
Try burning the G04 at 2x and then try in your Xbox.

Let us know your results:cool:

I am using Stomp Record now Max 4.5 with the latest px engine from

Also tried it at 2x still problems. :a

Should I get Sonic record Now 4.61. Is it better?

Media code on disc is

00000000 00 6A 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 52 00 02 76 0E 14 .j…@…R…v…

any other ideas?

What about The Dangerous Brothers hack. Would there be any improvement?

TIA

The Dangerous Brothers firmware will not improve media compatability. It will remove rip speed locks and make your drive RPC1 region free.

What type of Ritek G04 are you using? (brand and top color?)
Quite a few people have reported that their 2500A does not burn Ritek G04 very well.

Your Stomp RecordNow version should be fine.

The Media that i am using is Datasafe 4x speed. With white tops. Silver going through the middle and writing space to the right.

My burns with Ritek G04 orange and NEC are not top notch.
Many times it fails the verify as well.
Tried in the xbox with a thomson drive and never had any problem.

I guess your xbox drive is picky.

Currently i’m using prodisc s03 dvd-r with excellent results (on both standalone and xbox)
good media with a decent price.

I have the phillips drive in my xbox. Normally good with Riteks when burnt with the Pioneer 105.

Guess I just have to use the Princo’s
