I have been encouraged in another forum that InCD may be causing the problems that I have been experiencing lately.
I don't get the evil blue screen of death, but I get a strange "lockup freeze" which requires hitting RESET on the power bus to recover from. This lock up happens aproximately 30 percent of the time that I insert a new or burnt DVD-R media into the NEC 2500 drive. BTW- I'm using Herrie the flashmaster's 1.07beta8 firmwares (had the problem before, and still have the problem even after changing to Herrie's product.)
This brings me to my questions:
I was able to remove ROXIO Easy Media 7 and went ahead and installed NERO 6.3.XX ultra edition. Now I have something called "InCD" in my system tray which someone has pointed out is a essentially the same as Roxio's "drag to disk" -- packet writing software which I need to disable or remove.
I tried clicking on the InCD icon in the sys tray, but there were no options to "make it go away." I didn't see a specific program under the UNINSTALL SOFTWARE MENU indicating a nero InCD - so I couldn't remove InCD via a simple uninstall.
Is this program able to be disabled in the Nero software, or is it fused in such a way as to make it inseperable?
I couldn't find the Win XP PRO option to "disable automatic RUN" when a CD is inserted --- this is another item that my troubleshooters in the firmware / hardware forums asked me to select. I didn't see it in the Administration Tools, and the Device manager didn't list a check box to disable it.
Thank you for your great help!
