it worked on the computer i took it out of, it may have been Home edition though, i dont remember, can anyone help?

EDIT: i guess i should have stated my issues. but um, it wont recognize anything. no cds or cd-roms. i can put in a dvd and the little icon on the My Computer page changes to a DVD, but it doesnt read the dvd info or anyhthing, and ive gotten a dvd to play using powerdvd or whatever it is called, but still, it doesnt read anyhting else or recognize any blank disk to even try to see if it burns.
ive tried flashing different firmwares and everything, and updated my ide drivers, but nothings worked…

The drive is ancient. Invest in a new drive.

#3

This drive is ancient but I never get a lick of trouble out of mine.
I don’t use it a lot but when I do I get good quality w/excellent playback

try this it is the most current firmware

#4

Ancient drive, as said before. The Alcohol log is kinda useless. :frowning:

Get a spankin new burner for under 30 bucks.

#5

im only 16, and this took me enough trouble to get…

#6

and ive already got 1.0C…, and no one can help? like maybe my drivers on my computer are old or something, because this drive worked on a home edition perfectly…

#7

Are you using vista??

#8

Remove Alcohol, try with Imgburn.

#9

m102391, it is a 4x DVD burner, unless you have some 1x/2x/2.4x/4x media lying around, you probably won’t get any good burns out of modern media.
