i tried to flash the firmware 1.05 to 1.08 and a problem appears at the end of the procedure… now, my writer is unusable, how can i upgrade the firmware back ??? he is recognized like a NEC1100 and the del is always blinking…

this actually happened to me when i tried to use the 1.07 windows flasher. just go to Herrie’s site and get one of the dos flashers. the 1300A is a drive that can be revived if u “kill” it with a misflash.
i get the boot cd with dos flasher, bun it on a cdrw and i rescusite my 1300A!
i tried so many times to updates it from windows, on dos, it works… the nec 1300a cant die ! 
I accidentally falshed my NEC 1300A
with the incorrect Firmware,
It is now an IOMEGA DVD firmware 1.22 instead of a NEC 1300A
Is there any way I can change it back ???
Also I tried to burn a DVD data disk from my HDD and received and error message in Nero
