Well i picked up some 50pks or Memorex 8x media at Stpales today for $20. They turned out to be Prodiscf01. Hope these are ok. WEll anyway, the problem is that nero will only let me burn at a max of 2x. I burnt a backup at that and dvdinfopro showed a lot of errors towards the end of the disk (90 to be exact.) BTW this was burnt on a lite-on 811s at my home at 2x, just got down to school to my main rig and am testing it. The start button in nero quality test is grayed out to???. Wierd.
How do i get these to burn at 4x like my drive is rated? Herries site is down. I never had problems with disks before and have burned for about a year so im new to this when something doesnt work. The firmware i have is 1.08
and info on the disk is

Ok updated firmware to 1.0b and am able to to burn at 4x but dont know whether to take this stuff back since the bad errors at the end. What are some tests to run. Whats an acceptable amount of errors

I would dump it. You are probably having trouble with this because you have an older drive and newer media. Also many others with new burners also have trouble.

Hmmmm. I guess ill try a few more as i havent burned them yet on my nec-1300a. The first burn was on the liteo 8x. I just tested it on my nec1300a. Wonder whats a good alternative. Ritek g04?

Both your burners will need the most current firmware. I would not try G04s as there have been a lot a problems with consistency dating back 6 months. You might try G05s as they have been good for a lot of people but again, might have problems due to firmware issues. According to codeguys latest HS0R version, with Omnipatcher updates, G05 should fly at 4X and Prodisc F01 is not listed, which would account for your problems.
