I bought a nec-1100a last week. But when i want to burn a cd whit nero6 it only burns at 2.4 speed instead of 4 speed.
What is wrong?

Tell us a bit more about your system please.

There are several factors that determine the actual writing speed (eg Media and PC (CPU/Memory))

I’m about 90% sure that the media causes this “problem”. This is quite typical for modern drives: based on their internal database (included with the firmware), they determine what discs can be written at what speed, in order to guarantee the best quality writes…

I have a athlonxp 2400/ 512mb ddr333 ram/ 120gb 7200rpm 8mb cache hard disk

I dont see how my pc could bee the problem

I have the same problem as this and I have tried many different discs and all burn at 2.4.

Any clues how to overcome this ???

Can you check if the media you put in is properly detected?

Maybe a firmware upgrade would help. Any idea what firmware you are running

(use Nero Infotool for some more information on your drive)
