ND 3550A can't read TEAC media?

I burned some videos on a DVD, burn was successful and I was able to read the DVD.
for some reason I can’t read it now. not on my computer and not on my second computer that have the same 3550A Drive. (the computer shows a blank CD)
I’m able to watch the videos on my DVD player.

I get this problem on every TEAC DVD that I have burned
(all are data DVD’s).

help please?

Welcome to CDFreaks Forum.

Can you post the mediacode of the TEAC media.

Use DVDIdentifier or Nero CD/DVD Speed to retreive mediacode.

They are probably fake Taiyu Yuden. http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=112854

Fake TEAC. http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=187793&highlight=TEAC

Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:TYG02]

Disc & Book Type : [DVD-R] - [DVD-R]
Manufacturer Name : [Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd.]
Manufacturer ID : [TYG02]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4.71 GB (4.38 GiB)]

they are fake…

so what should I do?

how can I read them?

sorry… here’s the media code.

TEAC Media Code.txt (1.26 KB)

Try your disc in another drive, prefereable a LiteOn or Samsung. Time to viset some friends.

I mention LiteOn and Samsung, because they are know as good readers.

I only use Verbatim DVD’s and CD’s.

I will buy Verbatim from now on.
are they relyable?

The data I’m burning is extremely important to me.
I can’t risk loosing it.

Verbatim are usally excellent, but burn speed is also important. Even though 16x media can burn at 16x, it’s usually a good idea to burn them at 12x for better results.

I have a lot to learn!

Thanks folks
