ND-2510a: Problem Burning Imation CDs or at > 4x?

I’m trying to burn CDs using my NEC ND-2510a (firmware 2.17 RPC1 by Dangerous Brothers) with limited success using Nero 6.0.0.23.

I’ve using two types of blanks:

  • TDK CD-RW 700 4x
  • Imation CD-R 700 (no max speed shown)

When burning on the TDK, Nero detects the max speed as 4x, and all is well.

When burning with the Imation, Nero detects the max speed as 32x, but I get a fail error message and a coaster. When I change the burn speed to 4x, all is well.

Does anyone know if the problem could be with the brand I’m using, or the fact I’m trying to burn at greater than 4x?

Thanks,

P.

what is the error message

no idea what the imation you are using are since you haven’t posted mid codes. my experience with imation has not been stellar.

as they say in the media forum " TRY ANOTHER MEDIA AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS"

Manufacturer Name Moser Baer India, Ltd… it would be good to look in the cd media test forum to see what others have experienced with this media. i would seriously consider trying another cd media before i would come to any conclusion on your 2510
