[nd-2500A] Question about cd-dvd speed test

hello, its my first post in this community, sorry my bad english.

i have a question, i flashed my nec-2500a with the latest herrie’s firmware… 1.07 beta6. I burned a 4x DVD+ (Verbatim DatalifePlus) ID MCC002. All worked okey and it was burned at 8x without problems, i saw the movie in my standalone player without a hitch. The bitsetting was DVD-ROM, so my dvd-rom player will read the dvd at full speed right? so, if the dvd-rom reads the dvd at full speed and at the end the line start falling with an end speed of 14x that means that it was a good burn right? Start speed 6x - average 10x - end speed 14x.

ah, and no, i dont have a liteon burner, so i cant make kprobe scans.

again, sorry my very bad english.

Because you set book-type to ROM, your ROM drive is trying to read it at full speed. Very few discs will read at full speed. If you leave it at +R book type, it might read slower, but have no slow-down.

Can’t you set a maximum read spead with Nero’s CD-DVD Speed? Maybe set it to read at 8x max, since most non-DVD-ROMs usually don’t reach that read speed.

Good luck!

No, you cannot.

Damn, that sucks. I thought there was some German app out there that allowed you to control your DVD-ROMs read speed. Actually, can commercial apps like AnyDVD or DVDIdle do this?

Thanks,
