ND-2500A noobie question

I dont know if this is the right place to ask this but:

I just got my brand new NEC ND-2500A DVDr drive.
I flashed the firmware with the RPC1 firmware from the dangerous brothers.
Now Nero InfoTool tells me:
DVD Features
Region Controll:RPC I
Recgion Code: All
Changes left User: n/a
Changes left Vendor: n/a

Which all looks ok i guess (for a now region free dvd)
But when i put in a dvd from a diff region and try to watch it with powerdvd the counter pops up and now i only have 4 changes left.
???

The firmware only changes the drive to region free, the software is a different issue, you will need one of the software fixes for that.

one of the software fixes? that means there are software fixes downloadable somewhere?

but does this means that the software thinks it only has so many changes left?
or does my dvd drive still reduce the number of changes ‘if the software tellis it to’?
(or can someone direct me to some reading which explains this. Obviously I dont know the details on what region free actualy is)

thnx

The software and drive are completely separate in terms of region protections. Suggest you do some reading around here on the topic of region-busting. AnyDVD comes to mind.
