Just having a nosy on ebuyer.com when I saw some packs of DVD-Rs / CD-Rs on there, made by Nashua. Although I have no plans to buy them, could someone enlighten me who makes these discs, and how good they are? For some reason they just seem to ring a huge bell, I’ve seen them before, but… Well, who are they?

MID codes as well if anybody knows them

Avoid them unless absolutely necessary - they are usually C-grade Prodisc or Optodisc media or Chinese fakes.

C’mon, you know what Chad is like for cheaper media. I bet by next week he’s all over them, possibly before.

Im insulted by your remark!

And no not at all, I don’t buy my discs online, possibly with the exception of Amazon  Nashua just rung a bell that’s all  Anyway I thought Optodisc were a good manufacturer?

How about Xenta DVD R? Who makes them

It looks like they are MCC fakes made by some smaller manufacturer in China or Hong Kong: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia/xenta-dvd-r-mcc-03rg20-16/4833

I see, thanks

I have no plans to buy these offcut discs, since ASDA DVD-Rs are currently in the sales with a CMC MID code  If I buy cheap discs, might as well be local! :stuck_out_tongue:

Pepst, it seems you were bang on the money when you said about MCC fakes. As much as people think they’re terrible quality, when I first started burning DVDs years ago the DVDs I got were MCC fakes from Poundland. They still scan beautifully to this day, but threw them out since I bought the official DVD from Amazon. (I think it was a DVD rip-to-DVD of Panic Room? )

As much as I probably wouldn’t buy Xenta or Nashua, my own experience MCC fakes aren’t really all that bad. Just thought I’d throw in my tuppence
