Napster file, Relicensing them

vbimport

#1

Ok… I have been banging my head on this one…

I have downloaded about 15 Gig of Napster files at work…

I am putting them on an external drive to bring them home and put them on my computer to convert to MP3’s…

The problem is… I can import these files using the napster program, but it doesn’t relicense them until the file is played…

I have dial-up so this is a little of a pain…

I thought of a slick way and it sort of works…

I use Windows Media Player 10.0 with a macro player…

I start a huge list up and it plays each song for about 10 seconds… IF it needs relicensed it will acquire it (Of course I am connected to the interet when doing this)

After 10 seconds the Macro player clicks next and plays the next song…

This seems to be working fine, but I am looking for a faster solution…

Thought about using Winamp and multiple instances…

But I have installed the lastest version and this does not seem to be working… And everywhere I am reading seems to say this is a problem… And yes I have the full FREE version installed…

Any suggestions are more than welcome…

TIA

I don’t recall seeing anyone post a quick way to update the licenses of your songs. I’d guess you’re probably stuck doing it the slow way.

not sure if this will work, but you may be able to find the folder the licensing is in and copy it and bring it home, putting it inthe same dir you got it from on you home machine? this is a thought, that is all it is for I have no idea if it would work, but it seems possible?
