I think its a bad move being myspace has already taken a heavy decline lately. I was the company i would be trying to make things better and more pleasurable not more annoying and adding to reasons to switch to other services.
I agree with @glamdring92, just when I thought Myspace was doing something right (all their streaming music), they go and do something un-user-friendly like this.
It owned by newscorp. Its only a matter of time before they ask you to pay for membership.
