My Plex died after only three years use. I see you reviewedburners from 2008, is there a more current running list? What is hot now, if I do not want/need bluray.
Would that be the PX-716A (IDE model) or the PX-716SA (SATA model) that you want to replace?
Hi, sorry, it's the IDE model. But I have a free IDE and a free Sata port, so I can go either way.
You should go with SATA. IDE is dying. It is easier to install and work with SATA. No more master/slave settings and such.
You should be happy I guess.
All my previous Plextor's died after less than 1 year of use.
I just got one from the 8xx series though. First SATA burner too.
Upon further inspection, the IDE cable was jarred loose partially, during the last case vacuuming. All is ok now.
That's not a real Plextor, unfortunately.
