IMO, Olbermann is his own worst enemy. He has bought into his own hype and has made himself unemployable. If he can’t make it work at a liberal bastion like Current TV then he needs to do some self evaluation.

There are a fewer that are half way decent. I think CNN is missing out on a great opportunity to be a major cable news contender again. If they played it straight up the middle, for real, it would get a lot of viewers. This means almost a whole new on-air personality lineup and pundits that are not wild eyed lefties or righties. I think they might be able to give Fox a good run in the ratings doing this. Hanging out on the left isn’t going to get them any better ratings than they currently enjoy, IMO.

Unless he learns to be a team player, I don’t see any major network hiring him. He has been fired by what many consider the most liberal cable news channel and a very liberal cable channel. Considering how liberal Olbermann is there aren’t many places for him to go considering his current mental state.

Although I rarely agree with Maddow on anything, I too think she can run circles around Olbermann intellectually. IMO, Olbermann reached his full intellectual potential at ESPN.

Many people don’t know that Olbermann used to work for Fox Sports Net (1998-2001)that is owned by New Corp who also owns Fox News. He took quite a few paychecks from Rupert Murdoch before trashing him regularly on MSNBC and Current TV.
