Whenever I close my CD drive with or without a CD inside of it it pops right back open, occasionally it will stay closed but it will refuse to read any CD’s it is a HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8483B CD drive, I supposedly have the latest driver and the manufacturer of the Drive is listed as standard cd-rom drives, I would appreciate any help on this, thank you.
Tray issues are one of the most common causes of drive death. Look for any obstruction around the tray, cleaning and lube are the only things you can do.
Thanks so much.
Last one I had go bad would refuse to stay open. LOL, I had to toss a disc into it before it slammed shut, and try to grab it back out again when I was done.
