Alright… My internal Cd Drive worked up until my ex did something to my computer. I was not aware that it wasn’t working, only that he told me the power supply wasn’t large enough to power it and the rest of my computer. BS… It does. I plugged it back in the way my step father showed me (I don’t live there so I can’t get him to fix it now)
It opens and closes but it will not read the disk. I’ve tried music cd’s, game cd’s and game dvd’s. In My Computer, it shows dvd/cd-rw drive F on my computer, however it also shows two others, dvd drive D and dvd drive E These two tell me to insert a disk even if there is a disk in the drive. The dvd.cd-rw opens to show the drive is ‘empty’ when there is a disk.
I’ve tried Microsoft automatic troubleshooter and it tells me to insert readable media. I’m not sure if there is a way to fix this or not (and I have gone through device manager and uninstalled and reinstalled the device as well as tried to update or rollback the driver.) None of this works to fix the issue.
The question is, can it be fixed and if so, how… or is it fried…
First what did the ex do? Also what kinda a computer and model is the cd/dvd drive? Also what kinda software burning or cd/dvd drive software do you have installed? Is it internal or external drive? From what it sounds the ex now installed some kinda virtual drive software that is why you have multiple drive listed but only one physical drive. You will have to check your add/remove and see what software was installed and uninstall it.

Tell him he needs brain check as well…PS not enough just like you said that is BS and more BS…they must think one is that gullible to believe that. If it worked before there is no evidence he gave why it shouldn’t work still. That is why you and or anyone should only let those you trust to use your computer desktop or laptop cause if and when they cause problem they just deny and deny when they do cause the computer problem.
