Alright... My internal Cd Drive worked up until my ex did something to my computer. I was not aware that it wasn't working, only that he told me the power supply wasn't large enough to power it and the rest of my computer. BS.. It does. I plugged it back in the way my step father showed me (I don't live there so I can't get him to fix it now)
It opens and closes but it will not read the disk. I've tried music cd's, game cd's and game dvd's. In My Computer, it shows dvd/cd-rw drive F on my computer, however it also shows two others, dvd drive D and dvd drive E These two tell me to insert a disk even if there is a disk in the drive. The dvd.cd-rw opens to show the drive is 'empty' when there is a disk.
I've tried Microsoft automatic troubleshooter and it tells me to insert readable media. I'm not sure if there is a way to fix this or not (and I have gone through device manager and uninstalled and reinstalled the device as well as tried to update or rollback the driver.) None of this works to fix the issue.
The question is, can it be fixed and if so, how... or is it fried...
