What is the easiest/best way to setup a DDW-081/82 drive to use Mt Rainer under XP Pro?

I basiccally want to have an easy way of backing up files to a DVD+RW disc on a regualr basis in a quick manner.

Would Mt Rainer be a good approach or would some other means be better?

Whether or not you’re going to use Mt Rainier, you will need packet writing software. If you’ve got a package like Nero, you may well find a packet writing program is included.

What, Nero supports packet writing? How?

So is there any FAQ on how to setup a good packet writing system in XP?

Basically I’d like to be able to drag and drop files to a DVD RW if possible as a quick means of backing up files throughout the day as needed.

Neros’ packet writing app is named “InCD”

I gave InCD a try but didn’t work.
It formatted the disc but wouldn’t seem to mount it.

Roxio Drag-to-Disc, part of Easy Media Creator 7 (and Easy cd/dvd Creator 6 before than and DirectCD before that) work fine for me for packet writing to CDs and DVDs. I gave up on InCD a long time ago as I could never get it to work reliably. XP has no built-in packet writing ability.
