Msn Webcam FREEZING! :(

Hi

I’m running a windows Vista

having problems with msn messenger webcam

my msn: version 2008 (build 8.5 .1302.1018)

anyways when I’m on msn chatting, when i send or receive webcam invitation… the time when i click accept or the other contact clicks accept my whole msn freezes… i sometimes can see myself still moving on the webcam but then sometimes it just freezes on a frame.

it used to work fine till i put this card VGA TV Tuner… i removed it and everything installed on the computer related to it… seems like my webcam is still freezing

i have a Logitech ps2 eyetoy Webcam that I’m using as a webcam.

Sounds like you got hacked or hijacked by a malware…get a malware or spyware and AV program and do a complete scan…also uninstall that program…and do again a complete scan…to get rid of any unwanted malware or virus. And when you do download the program make sure it from the M$ location not some unreliable location. If you can fix this time to restore your computer with your Restore cd/dvd or reinstall your complete O/S. I know a friend that has that same problem she deleted the webcam but didn’t fix the problem so I told her to do a complete restore to get rid of what caused her problem after installing the webcam.

ok can you please describe how to restore step by step

First we need to know if your computer is home built or in store bought?

Since it is store bought how long ago did you buy it? There should be instructions that came with your computer on how to created recovery cd/dvd media that can reinstall your computer fresh back to when you first bought your computer if not you can contact the store you bought it and ask how to create the recovery media. What store did you buy your computer at? Also you can contact the manufacture of the computer you bought to give you instructions on how to create recovery cd/dvd as well. I am not to familiar with vista recovery but should follow the same process as xp recover it should be somewhere you create recover media. It sounds like the webcam has corrupted a critical file in the O/S and a simple delete won’t fix it. Also when you do download files make sure it is for Vista not just XP. Also from looking at your hijack this you should uninstall Incd, Real, and stop QT from loading up on bootup reason being there is a free alternative to real call realAlt that works better. Also what is stream service??? If you can tell us what is your computer model and brand and what store did you buy it at?

ok i bought it 6 months ago and i got a Windows Vista Home Premium cd only? is that the one ur talking bout?

So you bought it from a shop there. Is it a brand name computer model? example like a Hp, Dell, Compaq. Yeah I understand your problem from what I heard of vista you have to have the ultimate vista cd to help restore any corrupted files that home vista doesn’t give you that option. That is one reason I am staying away from vista for some time. I have xp pro sp3. If possible you should ask the shop you bought from if they have a cd or can make a restore cd/dvd for your computer model to recover it back. If you did uninstall the webcam program and drivers and still have problem. It’s it most likely it corrupted a need sys file in vista. When you downloaded or install from the cd/dvd for the webcam did you make sure you choose the vista driver or software that was from vista? I know from some installation experience if you install vista drivers in xp it will corrupt xp files and force you to reinstall xp. Also you might want to contact the webcam company for support as well as to situation and see if they have any other resolution on their site for your webcam problem.

problem solved…

it was from a program called “Media player Classic”

it was using it, and everytime i put cam on msn, the media player would freeze so msn would freeze with it.

thanks for ur help anyway

Well that is good. I knew there was something I missed to ask was what software in conjunction with the webcam you were using but I thought it was something with the software for the webcam causing the problem with the O/S.
