A work colleague who uses MSN asked me to check a problem he's having at getting online as he was getting the following screen each time he launches Internet Explorer:
This one baffled me at first as his Internet connectivity seemed fine, but once I started checking other websites, they loaded fine. Then he said that he was having this same issue at home, which seemed rather strange, considering this is Microsoft's default website in Internet Explorer.
I then checked my PC and got a similar screen, but with different Ref A, Ref B and Ref C codes. These codes would change each time I press F5 and very intermittently the actual MSN website would load up. For some reason, Firefox consistently loaded the MSN website.
From a quick test with a remote desktop to my home PC, all three browsers including Firefox are giving the ref errors. My home ISP is Vodafone, Work ISP is Eircom and colleague's home ISP is Sky and my home DNS is OpenDNS while I think my workplace uses Google's DNS, so it doesn't seem to be ISP or DNS specific.
I'm curious if anyone else is getting this issue. I'll update this post once the site starts consistently displaying fine.
