MSI cdwriter 48x/12x/48x

hello !

on which technolgy is based the MSI 48x/12x/48x ?

is it a Liteon based ?

Hello!

No, i don´t think so. It has not Smart Burn but Exac-Link like the writers from Mitsumi, Cyberdrive . Better buy another brand like LG or Asus, if you want to copy SD2.51-protected CD´s.

Can you give a link about technical data and a picture of this writer?

The MSI 32x12x40 is a Cyberdrive CW058, the 40x is a Benq.
If you want to buy a Lite, look at this:

thank you !

Look at the topic above, i had think you mean the 40xMSI

the topic above talk about liteon dvd not about msi 48x cdwriter !

Hello!

Sorry, i meant the first reply from me in this topic, because i had edit it. First i thought you meant the the MSI 40x

The URL i only write here, if you really want a LiteOn-drive. I want to warn you, because i´m not the only one who had bad experience with this brand

First off, MSI sells 48x16x48 burners, not 48x12x48. Based on the picture here , it looks very much like an OEM drive by BenQ/Acer.

There are both pluses and minuses for each brand of CD burners, just make sure you get the warranty to protect your investment.

I wish to buy a burner fully compatible with clone cd and i want to protect my investment and compatible with 90 & 99 min cdrs.

Which cdwriter do you advice me to buy ?

Hello!

LG 8320/8400 and Asus CRW 3212A/4012A/4812 are full compatible with CloneCD (correct EFM) and can read/write 90 and 99Min-CD-R´s

Yes, youre right. There is “Seamless Link”, not “Exac-Link”, it´s an Benq/Philips-OEM

Hello eveybody !

I make some search there are two models of Msi 48x/16x/48x.

  1. MS-8348A (ExacLink)

http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/optical_devices/dvs/pro_dvs_detail.php?UID=348&MODEL=MS-8348A

  1. MS-8348B (Seamless Link)

http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/optical_devices/dvs/pro_dvs_detail.php?UID=349&MODEL=MS-8348B

Which one is the same than the ASUS CRW-4816A ?

Which burner should i take ?

More and more persons advice me to take the Asus.

I don’t know what to do ?

I need more info about the MSI cdwriters and more opinions

I was on Benq web site and i found that:

this model is very close to the MSI 8348B et the ASUS 4816A.

someone could confirm that asus msi and benq are the same cdwriters in 48x/16x/48x ?

Hello!

Don´t think, that MSi are build by Asus, no Way.

I just installed a MS-8348A in my sisters computer can anyone tell me why win98 simply calls it "ATAPI 48X 16 A " ?

it’s normal riga

MSI=BenQ

Thank you for that.

MSI have been around for a much longer time than Benq has.

Benq are an offshoot from the parent company ACER which split into 4 different subsideries to focus on different technologies about 2 years ago.

Benq.
Acer Peripherals.
Acer Communications.
Aopen.

Since then they have started to encroach upon eachothers technologies and are hence competitors to each other.

Talk about internal power struggles.
