MPEG-4 Converter?

Hey guys I just have a quick question, and it’s probably been answered already in this forum so sorry. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for a program to convert my MPEG-4 1080p videos to 720p preferably MP4 format. I am able to view the videos fine on my desktop, but my laptop sucks and won’t play any video higher then 720p, plus I would like to save some space on my HDD which I am hoping to achieve also by down-converting the resolution. I am a beginner with this so the program has to be pretty easy to use, I tried MediaCoder the free edition but it says it doesn’t support MPEG-4. Can anyone help?

Hi brandonbelb, you can download a trial of Pvtube Video Converter here:

It supports 1080P to 720P and accept MPEG-4 codec as well as batch conversion. Online user manual can be found here:

Handbrake.
It’s free and excellent.

VidCoder.
It’s also free and uses the same encoder as Handbrake but with a different user interface.

If you need an H265 conversion program Love Renee, BD Rebuilder has recently added that capability. At the moment, it only outputs to an MKV file when using H265.

Expect much longer encoding times when using H265.
