Hi, im new to the community, i have a few questions on how to convert mp4 files to wmv for my portable mp3-video player, any suggestions on software to do the conversion? i have only got a few files so im looking for something free. thank you =)

there is a trial of total converter with water mark. this is a very good program, i have used it with great results. downside its not free sorry. http://www.effectmatrix.com/total-video-converter/index.htm
the good free converters i know of will convert your mp4 to dvd then you will have to use another program to convert the dvd to wmv.
If you need WMV output, Windows Movie Maker can likely do it. Or Windows Media Encoder. Both Free.
