Mozilla will add a new setting to Firefox that allows users to block trackers and other third-party content that have an impact on privacy and performance. Currently, the browser already has an option called “Tracking Protection” that makes it possible to block online trackers.

My custom hosts edit already does this behind the scenes already without the the browers doing so and it works for IE, Edge, Chrome, and FF.

Unless it displays all the web domains and allows me to choose what resources get loaded, I don’t think I’ll be switching away from uBlock anytime soon.

That said, it’s good that Mozilla is at least giving users an ad blocker by default, even if it’s not as good as uBlock.
