I just posted the article Mozilla speeds up Javascript in Firefox 18 - with IonMonkey.

Firefox developer David Anderson has released details on his blog about a new JIT (just in time) compiler for processing Javascript which should be included in Firefox 18. The engine called IonMonkey should perform much faster than Mozilla’s current JagerMonkey engine.

I have JS disabled as much of the time as possible but I am using portable Opera.

No wonder FireFox is losing ground! It’s only up to ver. 18+ while Chrome is over ver. 21! Anyone here remember ver. 1.0 of either?

I don’t recall 18 being a official release but beta most likely. As to the revise number shouldn’t really matter what matter more is compatibility with plugins and stability and security holes it plugs more then it creates…
