Sounds like a good start

Tab Groups is one of the most useful unique features of Mozilla Firefox. If they remove that and plugin support, their journey to the Daft Side will be complete!

I guess the few who have 30 to 40 tabs open at a time , and can not group them together anymore might be upset.

I may be wrong but most people that I see only have 5 to 10 open at a time and does not need them grouped. JMHO

bean55 caused me to count  sure enough, 9 and I seem to stay around 5-15 depending on what I do, read or research at the moment. However to visually group tabs is a good feature I know many will be upset about if it disappears.

Is plugin support mentioned only to emphasize on the removal eagerness or is there something to it… If so, I’ll go with you all the way, Daft Side journey complete.

I know they will loose some users just from removing tab-groups as well and I do not really see why. How about optimizing code - Oh, I forgot, it takes a skilled programmer…

I do hope this isn’t Mozilla’s way of saying Firefox will become flat and ugly. Too many programs and website are going down that road for my taste. As for tab grouping, if there are a lot of users who use this, chances are, someone will re-implement this feature with an add-on.

When it come to slimming down, I think Firefox needs just that. I’m using Firefox right now, and according to mate-system-monitor, Firefox is using 1.3GiB of virtual memory. I have 4 tabs open. Mozilla’s Go Faster initiative is overdue, IMHO.
