MovieFactory - Possible to disable re-encoding?

Hi. Does anyone know if it’s possible to burn a project (complete with menus) straight to DVD-R in MovieFactory 6 without it going through the re-encoding process?

Let me say, though, I’ve already turned off the ‘Do not convert compliant MPEG files’ option but what’s confusing me is it’s still taking approx. 1 hour 40 minutes for the “converting the video of the title” process for a project containing a 50 minute programme. It’s only after this process that the disc finally starts burning.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Also, it’s eating up hard disc space because of this unwanted re-encoding process – required disc space was 7GB for this particular project, although on the final disc it’s only 2.7GB in total.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice, I appreciate it.

I haven’t used MF 6 but in the version I got with my Hauppauge capture box you had to change the ‘Project Properties’ MPEG specs to match the source file exactly to get it to not re-encode. It still had to re-encode at cuts usually unless you only cut on key frames.
