My first post, yeek!
btw,hi to all members here,I hope I,m goin to have a great time here on cdfreaks.com.
a cple of months ago I bought the new mediacode Philips DVD+R 8 spd media called: “informer 20”
Cple of years ago I tried the DVD+R 4 spd ones with mediacode CMC MAGFO1(same as fi Memorex) but found out that quality was average, dont remember the pi/po values I did on those ones, but sometimes had 3 to 4 coasters out of a spindle of 25
Here in the Netherlands the new Philips DVD+R 8 spd with mediacode “informer20” had an astonishing outcome in a cpl of mediatests ending in a close battle with Verbatim for 2nd and 3d place,The unbeatable Tayo yuden on 1st place of course
I used about 50 of the Philips 8 spd till now,no coasters, tested a lot of those with Kprobe,(btw burner Liteon 411S)having PI values of 100 to 120,and PO of 10 to 15 ,almost the same as Verbatim DVD+R(MCC) I tested.
So I guess we’re talking excellent quality media here and a big hurray to Philips for a big step in quality improvement compaired to the 4 spd ones they had before.
My first post, yeek!
I recently bought Philips 8X DVD+R media CMC MAG E01. This is the worst such media I got, as the TDK and the TEON are much better. Not to mention that Philips printed in bold paint of the disc, so there is no room to use marker. I will not buy Philips again under these conditions!
Thanks for ur reply Goudo.
You probably bought old stock with still the CMC mediacode.
As you could read in my topic I was talking about the new informer20 mediacode the 8 spds now have and believe me,they are much better then the CMC ones.
Hope I can figure out quickly how to add some Kprobe tests here me bein new in here n all, so you can see for yourself.

This is a kind of weired since TDK sells CMC under their own brand! It’s even exactly same disc CMC MAG E01.
Did some scans of Philips DVD+R 8x Media.
Code: - CMC MAG E01
Burned with NEC 3520A FW1.04
Scaned with NEC 3520AW FW3.04
