[Mount Rainier LTR-48125W] Only formats 505 MB disk space

Because I needed some backup space immediately & only had one CD-RW available that came with my Lite-On LTR-48125W-drive, I decided to check out and verify the Mount Rainier-support on this device.

Using Nero InCD 4.1.0.0 (latest version afaik), it works perfectly, copying and moving files to and fro.

But, as I noticed, InCD only formats 505 MB of the CD-RW-disc.

Is this because EasyWriteReader is included on the formatted disc? But that surely doesn’t take as much space as that?

I wonder…

Any informants on this?

How much space were you expecting?

Well, the space the disc indicates: 74min/650MB.

But perhaps that’s different with MR?

(BTW latest firmware).

UDF has significant overhead. It’s been a while since I used it, but I seem to recall something like 530MB available on a 650MB disc.

Thanks.

Are there any documents on this? I had some trouble finding any on the internet.

MR seems quite useful, though it isn’t used broadly, isn’t it? I’ve read about some troubles in the initial phase, when it was implemented first.
