Can anyone tell me how to convert AVI and MP4 files to a useable format for my Motorola Q? Or at least how I can get started? Thanks!!!

A nice suggestion for the future would be an option for smartphones underneath PSP in the DVD to Portable section.

What do the phone specs say about playing MPEG-4? You might also look in this thread. GregRocket has posted there and is the acknowledged (at least by me) expert in this.

There is a directory called profiles where you installed DVDFab Platinum 3. (C:\program files\DVDFab Platinum 3\profiles.)

You can edit the profiles or create a new one for your device using any text editor like windows notepad.

Looks like the Motorola Q specs are the same as my LG CU500. You could take this profile below and save it to your profiles directory and give it a try. Just save it as “generic.mp4.mpeg4.aac.dvdfab.MotorolaQ.xml” and it will show up under generic devices in DVDFab.

In DVDFab Mobile choose generic device. From the dropdown list choose your profile for your MotorolaQ. 176x144, Slide the bitrate to make about a 200mb file and leave everything else as set by the profile. I’ve created 200mb full lenght movies and they play very nicely on my LG phone. Hopefully it will work for you too.

Hi, it’s in the right format. What you need to do is install another player. Windows Media player in the mobile won’t play a lot of what ur going to want to play. You should get the CorePlayer for SmartPhone v1.0.4 can be bought for $19 bucks but you may find a fee one if you’re savvy…
