What is the most (or some) disturbing scene(s) in a movie(s)? A few of mine are:

  • Various scenes in “Trainspotting”
  • The ‘curb’ scene in “American History X”
  • A few in “Ichi the Killer” and “Brother”

…Yours?

Some movies to get you started (I haven’t seen any):
Fight Club
Pulp Fiction
The Exorcist
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Spelling?)
Terminator /2
The Pianist

Gothika was the best (scariest) horror flick I’ve seen since I was a kid.

The most disturbing scene I can think of right now would be a scene in The Cube. This walks into this room and you hear this dicer, and all these bits of this guy start falling of him. He had been diced into cubes.

The most disturbing film i have ever watched is a 15 minute rape scene and just generally the movie called irreversible. It is french and very, very sick. I don’t quite know how they were allowed to make it.

Also:

A clockwork orange (nasty rape and generally violent)
Requiem for a dream (tripped out wierdo film)
Romper stomper (skinheads beating up asians (first scene is young asian girsls being beaten)
Sleepers (brad pitt, very good film, very sad)
Scum (ultra violent borstall film)
Fargo (guy get’s put in a wood chipping machine)
Scarface (generally)

I work in a film store so get to watch a lot of wierd and wonderful stuff.

Ummm.

Try this scene from the movie Scarface.

Scarface and his bro have been hired to deliver some cash to some columbian druglords.
The package is short by a few thousand, so the columbians tie scarface and his brothers hands together and hitch it onto a hook in the ceiling.

They threaten to kill scarfaces brother with a chainsaw, if scarface doesn’t tell them where the missing money is. Of course scarface doesn’t know, so they put a chainsaw thru scarfaces brother, starting with the head, while scarface is tied about 5cms away from him. Blood going everywhere.

Ew…

Worst scene ever!

A movie that made a huge impression on me when I was young was George A Romero’s:‘Dawn of the dead’ . It scared the hell out of me, but I watched it 4 times (In the cinema) in one week. I still love that movie although it’s not that frightening any more. I am looking forward to watch the remake. The ‘Texas chainsaw massacre’ is another classic that made a huge impact on me, mainly because of the realistic mood. At that time I thought ‘clockwork orange’ was laughable, but I changed my mind when I watched it a couple of years later.

I love Tarantino’s movies In general. I also love Sam Rami’s:‘Evil dead’ movies and Peter Jackson’s: ‘Brain Dead’ although they are actually more funny than scary.

@Cyberwiz:
I have got The Cube, and that wasn’t that bad compared to the (slice-'n-dice) ones from Ichi The Killer, Resident Evil and Ghost Ship…

Another disturbing film is Schnidlers List (Spelling?)

Geez - most of the movies you mention here are in the top 20 of my favorite movies :stuck_out_tongue:

Gothika was the best (scariest) horror flick I’ve seen since I was a kid.
Lol, you must see some of Argento’s films mate

A clockwork orange (nasty rape and generally violent)
Requiem for a dream (tripped out wierdo film)
Fargo (guy get’s put in a wood chipping machine)
Romero’s:‘Dawn of the dead’ (absolutely love it  )

Some of my favorites … generally speaking i am a horror - splatter movie junkie.

Most disturbing scenes you say … hmm… most love scenes with no nudity and all the “i love - why dont you love me?” movies

That was the other i couldn’t think of at the time…

More include:

Casino (hammer and vice anyone?)
Donnie Brasco (erm…)
Deer Hunter (Russian roulette fucked me up big styley)
Carlito’s way (general)
Most war films (platoon, saving private ryan, Apocalypse now redux (man longest film with jsut pure violence and disturbance)
Black hawk down (bit boring after the first hour but still showed how real warfare should be like)

Most disturbing scenes you say … hmm… most love scenes with no nudity and all the “i love - why dont you love me?” movies

Ah of course, the flip side of the coin would be films as disturbing as legally blonde 2, Timeline…but the best part of any film that made me cringe the most was in Jackass where they give themselves papercuts on their lips and in the webbing on their feet…

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUCH!!!

Totally forgot that one! It’s a killer.

Ghost Ship is another. Shit that’s gorey, at the beginning when everyone gets chopped in half by piano wire and later on where there is a massacre.

Off Topic:
I think a sequel to Cube has came out. It’s named Hyper Cube… Has anyone seen it?

I was just getting ready to ask my fiance what movie that was with the wire!
Nice intro to a movie. aghh…
I think for disturbing intellectually not visually it has to be the last scene in “Seven” with Brad Pit and Morgan Freeman.

The scene in rosemary’s baby when she finds out her husband has sold her baby to satan in exchange for fame and success. If your religious, you’ll be frightened.
Second runner up-Saving private ryan, when the german soldier sticks his knife into the american soldier verrrry slowly.
