a little late, I couldn't resolve ip for club.cdfreaks.com this morning !
Hope this is not too outdated.
It was not that important. We will have soon a real test and not such moronic assumptions (mines)
For gigarec audio (if allowed), some extended tests will show the compatibility level with some regular audio players (dvd players, car sets, ...). It's nice to have more pure audio on a CDs as long as they are readable on standard material.
I didn't remark on plextor site the link provided by alchip80 (I have to sleep !). It's good to see that Plextor is refocusing on quality and advanced feature products (not for average users though, those who didn't read every morning ECMA docs).
Grabed from plextor site (alchip80 link):
To begin measurement, in the C1/C2 Test window, click the Start button. You see the error counts representing the result of C1 error measurement (BLER) and C2 error measurement (E22).
And this one will make Pio2001's day
I saw numerous threads discussing about what is really C2 error, how to take into account C2 measurement, on so on... depending which drive is concerned !
Maybe they release oversized games soon
oversized overcomed with overburn (I really have to sleep)
For biggest one: only bundled with Premium drives
Did you really think Gigarec have to be RAW ? I can't figure why (for current usage, not for oversized games ) Or is it just a wish for future use ?
The first thing everyone is waiting for u is to pass your 3 sheep test on the Premium drive, as everyone knows for sure now u will get one
PS: it is just me or do you too guys feel something weird about plextor, usually very protective about some tech details (remember the very average docs on CLV-PCAV-CAV, or writing strategies (the same + ZCLV) and even some of their (lame) conservative answers about (incorrectly stated)EFM encoding/DSV problems) and now showing tough ones (docs), digging deeply into some cryptic characteristic (tell a newbie about E22 !) ? I think they must be very confident in their new product (no commercial here, just an impression).
thanks 501XX, of course CD Doctor can be replaced by Plextools Pro for such tasks (pfiou).
Maelstrom: previous Plextor drives based on Sanyo chipset didn't work either with CD Doctor. It's obviously not only a chipset related question. Again PT Pro rules.
