It would help if you gave more information - such as your reader and/or burner model and manufacturer as well as what Disc you are trying to back up. It will be easier to tell you what settings if we can verify the Disc information - otherwise we’re kinda just guessing…

Hi hronn,

scann your CD with aray scanner www.aray-software.com it is up to date and it may give you the precise SafeDisc version used on your CD. After this do the things Salviati posted it would be a great help for us to help you

i hope this helps to my request .

thx

Step by step:

reading:

 1. start CloneCD and click Read to Image file
 2. choose your reader
 3. choose Protected PC Game profile
 4. choose the destination of your Image

writing:

 1. choose Write from Image File
 2. choose your Image
 3. choose Protected PC Game profile and slow burning speed like 4x

that’s it, you won’t be able to play your backup from your burner, use a non CDRW or DVDRW drive. If you don’t have one you have to enable ‘Hide CDR’ in ClonCD tray because of the ATIP check. I don’t really know if SafeDisc 2.4 is blacklisting this option in CloneCD 4.2.0.2.

please help if u know something

Now I’m a little bit confused hronn ,

i thought safedisk 2 is one kind of protection
is a protection not a game title :stuck_out_tongue:

please post the following things so there will be no more misunderstanding :):

 1. Result of aray scanner for the CD you want to backup
 2. All your drives ,readers and writers because of this

12:53:20 Device Scan found 3 CD-ROMs and 1 CD-Writers!

 1. Your copy programs

after this we’ll see what is going on, thanks in advance hronn

p.s. I think this will be a problem

W 13:05:38 CD-Writer IDE-CD R/RW 12x8x32 can’t write 96 bytes SubChannel Data (CD-Text/CD+G)!
but we’ll see later

I think the problem comes from your NEC writer not being at least a 1 sheep burner (needed for SD2.4). Did you use Amplify Weak Sectors ?

Hi again and sorry to bother .

 1. Result of aray scanner for the CD you want to backup

it says Signs on CD/DVD indicate SafeDisc 2.40

All your drives ,readers and writers because of this

one DVD Reader

Manufacturer: _NEC
Product: DV-5700A

and one cd writer

IDE-CD
Product: R/RW 12x8x32
other two is just vertual drive. Do i have to remove them??

Your copy programs

I didn’t get it what do u mean . u mean clonecd version: CloneCD Version 4.3.2.2

or thoese things in that cd which i want back up : is some softwares and all together is like 697 mb . ---------------------------------------------------------

and if this is the problem . W 13:05:38 CD-Writer IDE-CD R/RW 12x8x32 can’t write 96 bytes SubChannel Data (CD-Text/CD+G)! is it some way to solve it ? or maybe my cd writer machine does not support. and i have to forget it.

thanks in advance

my last post didn’t go through. sorry i write this the moderator delete it .

thx

The problem is your NEC writer as docdocdoc9 posted

I think the problem comes from your NEC writer not being at least a 1 sheep burner (needed for SD2.4).
What kind of software is it? Differnet programs on 1 CD using SafeDisc Protection? Can you post the aray scanner log of your scan?

Hi again

this is all the log of A-ray scanner : [00:30:26] Signs on CD/DVD indicate SafeDisc 2.40
[00:30:27] — File(s) Scan Finished [0.75s] —

and yes this is many programs and software un one cd .

maybe is my writer doesn’t support , what do u mean by sheeps ? i have one ship in desktop and other one in the place near clock in down right side .

thanks for ur try

You won’t be able to backup your CD1 because your writer has to be at least a 1 sheep writer as docdocdoc9 posted. You can find this out looking here and do the test. So you’ll have to buy a new CDRW drive like an ASUS or LiteOn which will solve this without any problems. You can also try to mount your image using daemon tools, check SafeDisc emulation and start it from your virtual drives, maybe this works.

Hi again

Now I did the test and I faild  , then i have to forget work with this writer i have . thanks to u and people around u.

But actualy i want buy DVD R-RW with speed 8x , What is ur recomendation ??

for work with clonecd is that work?

and what type and modle is ur recomendation?

thanks again

Hi again

my search in the forum: It looks like is most people happy with NEC ND-2500A DVD Rewriter DVD +R -R +RW -RW
is this doing my job? and this is the info of this writer.

The ND-2500A offers the fastest DVD recording currently available in the market, together with fast CD recording and excellent read performance. It also gives the user the ability to select their preferred media without having to decide which DVD format to use with no compromise in performance: 1 hour DVD Video can be recorded in less than 10 minutes!
Dual format: DVD+ and DVD- standards supported
8x DVD+/-R / 12x DVD-ROM
4x DVD+/-RW
40x CD-ROM / 32x CD-R / 16x CD-RW
Internal - ATAPI EIDE
OEM drive (no software included)

and i want to buy it in this address
http://www.shoptheweb.co.uk/DVD-nec-nd-2500a.asp

what is ur idea please

thanks

Perhaps you take a look at the Recording Hardware Forum because I’m not very familiar with DVDRW drives. If you want to buy a CDRW drive get an Asus or LiteOn drive, you’ll get the best value for your money :).
